Through intersection/resection you could have located each rainbow’s end on a map, and sent coordinates to the pentagon, but relaying our position for air support wasn’t part of the plan, and the rainbows were only the beginning. We were in for the ultimate tree-fort stay (even though the structure wasn’t actually built in a tree), and the adventure had just begun. Views from the balcony were breathtaking in every direction, and with no lights from any nearby humans, the night sky lit up like a Christmas tree at Time Square. The Milky Way was so clear it appeared to be only a few miles above our heads, a ribbon of ornaments stretched from one horizon to the other. It was Nature’s version of a movie theater, asking all of the humans to kindly shut off our phones and lights, so she could begin the show, and what a show it was. I’m grateful to have experienced something so beautiful, yet so simple. Getting to this mystical place was an adventure in itself, our convoy consisting of two well-equipped 4x4s, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The journey, as well as the destination, made for memories I wouldn’t trade for the world. Go experience nature first hand, and I don’t mean running off to the local camp site to plug in your RV (though that can be fun as well). Unplug from the world, open your mind, and go where few others do. It’s better than Netflix on a Friday night. Don’t forget to take some advice from D.R. Bear, level up your respect for Nature’s creations, and take your camera too. You won’t regret it.

I was the guy in the red beanie.

Much love to all.
