Hobbies? Traveling, Motorcycle riding and Working on the Land Rover.

Does your rig have a name? Arthur

Is it a daily driver? No. But I drive it very often!

Modifications or add-on accessories? Brownchurch Expedition Roofrack, parabolic suspension, bottle opener, other than that is pretty much original. It is a full home made rebuild!

Where do you take it/ use it for? camping trips, driving to work, going surfing, weddings, any excuse is good to drive it!

Memorable trips? The most memorable was the first trip that took place when I bought the Landy in February 2010.

I purchased it sight unseen from a gentleman in Syracuse, NY, flew there to pick it up and drove it to Chicago where I lived at the time through a really nasty mid western winter blizzard. The cars floor boards were so rusted away that I could see the road and the heater was no match for the freezing draft.

I drove all those miles in my snow board clothing to stay warm, the car was slipping and sliding all over the place with its worn out 13 year old tires but it was a great memorable trip.

I had finally bought my dream car.
After that trip, I took it apart completely and proceeded to restore it by myself. The journey hasn’t been boring since then.
Now Arthur is ready for some new adventures!

Owners’s name: Greg

What do you do? I work for the U.S. Navy

Hobbies? Camping with my son, going to the gym, working on my car, fishing, participating in car shows for good causes (Children’s Hospital fundraisers, Wounded Warrior, stuff like that)

Modifications or add-on accessories? See the sign below- the list is long!

Where do you take it/ use it for?  I take my car through medium to light trails for camping and fishing, use it to explore new sights and for daily driving.

Memorable trips?- Some of my most memorial trips were taking my son camping in West Virginia for the first time and watching him learn to fish, sleep in a tent, roasting marshmallows, and sitting by the fire. I also remember the first car show I took him too, very similar to what my dad did with me. It was very rewarding.

How long have you had your adventure-mobile ? Got it on New Year’s eve, 2013, and it took about 6 months to build it out.

Owners’s name: Ed Cleary

What do you do? Software

Hobbies? Surfing, a little grappling, and coaching my kids

Does your rig have a name? My boys started calling it “Baja Betty” and that stuck.

Is it a daily driver? Nope, I have an all electric Fiat 500e. I’m the social proof people drive

differently around you based on what you’re driving……

Modifications or add-on accessories? At some point, there’s just too many to list, but the “can’t live without thems,” are:

– ARB Truck-top tent: (I’m convinced, however, one factory makes them for every company you’ve seen) with some memory foam tossed in there.

– ARB Fridge: you can’t place enough value on cold, fresh, dry food a few days in.

– 22 gallon fresh water tank.

– Air System (compressors, tanks, fill hose, etc..) airing down is a lifesaver for Baja washboard.

– Good suspension system. No need for all the details, but speed and comfort for 10+ hours on Baja roads is a must.

– Entertainment system. Same reason, you’ve got to have good music, and the occasion video for the kids (both going on at the same time) while you click away the miles.

– Solar, Deep cycle batteries, and an inverter: We can run everything for days just on a small fold out panel, that includes a kettle for coffee, soup, whatever.

It would be a mistake not to mention Skip at StreetNoyz San Diego who’s an artist with everything from the electronics, to completely custom build-outs for our water tanks, air system, fridge set up…… really anything you can dream up.

Where do you take it/ use it for? Mostly all over Baja, but we do the mountains and deserts around CA too. Typically head towards a cold beer and warm water, however……

Memorable trips? Hard not to say all of them. Really no replacing spending time with your wife and kids in some simple, quite, relaxed spot off the beaten path.

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Vanagon Syncro
Year: 1986
Mileage: 160,000 on body / 12,000 on engine/gearbox

How long have you had your adventure-mobile? We’ve had our Syncro since September of 2015. She’s been our home since September 2016.

Owners’s name: Jessica and Jorge Gonzalez

What do you do? We are designers. We design websites, apps, logos, and print materials. We typically work with Ad Agencies in NYC on client projects that require our skill set.

Hobbies? Jessica’s hobby is to illustrate insects and plants. She also loves reading dystopian novels with kick ass heroines.

Jorge’s hobbies are to shoot photos/video and read boring books.

For more about us: https://liveworkwander.com/our-journey/

Does your rig have a name? We named our Syncro Ripley after Lieutenant First Class Ellen Louise Ripley of the Starfreighter Nostromo from the Alien movie franchise. Ripley is a fighter, a heroine, she never quits, and she’s motherly and caring. Those are all characteristics we want in a van.

Is it a daily driver? Our Syncro is our home. We live full time in Ripley. She is our office, our kitchen, our garage, our bedroom, our daily driver, and our refuge. It’s remarkable how such a small space can feel so much like home.

Modifications or add-on accessories?

Engine: VW 1.9L PD BVK TDi

Rear Bumper: Custom aluminum rear bumper with integrated swing arms for fuel, water and spare tire

Modified rear trailing arms for larger tires

Modified under floor storage for tools and spare parts

2 x 100w Solar Panels / 200AH Lithium Deep Cycle Batteries

ARB Twin Air Compressor

KC HiLites Gravity Pro 6 Light Bar

Porsche 930 Axles / Adjustable Fox Shocks / Maas Trailmaster springs

for more on Ripley: https://liveworkwander.com/ripley-the-syncro/

Where do you take it/ use it for? We take her anywhere she’ll take us. We live full time on the road and because she’s our home we have to be a little more careful about what trails we go on so as not to compromise her mechanically or functionally. But typically we stay on BLM Land or in National Forests. There are so many trails out there to explore and conquer that we have no shortage of potential upcoming adventures.

Memorable trips? We took Ripley down to Baja California, Mexico for a month and she performed admirably until the day we set off to leave the peninsula back to the US. We couldn’t have been happier having a rig like our Syncro in Baja. Having a home on wheels that can do what a Syncro can do makes living off the grid that much more exciting and memorable.

Does your rig have a name? I guess sometimes I call it Beastie, or One Lonely Beastie, partial homage to MCA.

Is it a daily driver? No. It’s one of 2 dedicated adventure vehicles I own.

Modifications or add-on accessories? The entire rig is custom. It was one of three custom HJ47s built at the factory for Toyota executives to tour Australian mining operations. Many more items to be added. Currently the rack, roof top tent and some internal workings are modified. Exterior protection, winch, on board air, full kitchen to come!

Where do you take it/ use it for? Multi day overlanding adventures is the primary use case. Preferably off the grid treks with friends and family.

Memorable trips? We did a trip to Moab a couple of years ago. The cruiser is not a speed demon so we drove in shifts both ways, 24 hours straight there, and another 24 hours straight back. Black Rock Desert in Northern Nevada was a fun place to tool around in the cruiser.

Things can seem tremendous the first time one goes to order spy apps for mobile phone. What aspects families think when they are going to use how to catch a cheating husband? Here we discussed at some key matters to keep in view, as well as how you can find options to start. What is the most momentous information you should know about catch a cheating spouse? Probably each adult knows about “how to catch your boyfriend cheating“. Sure, before you go and purchase the spyware, you must know a little bit about the provider. However, you have to see one fact that there are wide ranges of spyware are available depending upon your needs. Totally, we cannot deny the fact that price is not always a perfect indicator of quality. Thankfully, any good purveyor usually will allow you to upgrade a sofware later on if required, so don’t feel as though you need to start off on a plan that costs more than you need.
