Yeah your right and I agree but the damage is more so from the "chop shops" ... the private guys selling without paying the dues to run a legit business. Most are out of their homes and take a 400 shelf priced RC and turn it into 600 worth of tax free dollars. No overhead = lower prices

Here's a link to an e-bay auction on new parts from a chopped RTR VXL summit. The pic shows revo axles but I was told by the seller they are Summit and the pic was wrong.

27 + 5 shipping, sh*t how can you go wrong with this deal lol. You would do better chopping these your self and selling parts like they do on e-bay. A 300 RTR would bring you 400 in return parted out and the prices on parts is cheaper than Traxxas MSRP.

Wayne, I posted up a thread on the Traxxas forum and also gave them a call. I'm not the first to complain on the some of the parts being over priced. The main goal is to support the local hobby shops to keep the RC hobby alive. I told them along with alot of others that the local hobby shops are dying out due to high prices and the same product being offered cheaper via on-line sales.
